February, March and April has been an exciting time at Alex Adsett Literary as our authors’ most recent new releases have been launched into the world to find new homes on the shelves of readers.

Wild Dogs by Michael Trant was published by Penguin on February 1st; a thriller set in the rural outback of western Australia. The story follows wild dog trapper Gabe Ahern as he is drawn into a game of cat and mouse with a gang of people smugglers, after making the split decision to rescue a man named Amin.

February 1st also saw the release of The Ethical Investor: How to Quit Toxic Companies and Grow Your Wealth by Nicole Haddow over at Black Inc Books. This non-fiction ‘how-to’ is a guide to growing personal wealth for those who wish to still uphold their ethical stance on environmental conservation and corporate companies.

Dinuka McKenzie published her book The Torrent with HarperCollins on February 2nd. This is a debut Australian crime fiction for Dinuka, and the first in a series. The story centres on Kate Miles, a detective who is confronted by two colliding crime cases that dredge up her past and force her to make some difficult decisions.

Trent Jamieson partnered with Brio Books to release The Stone Road on March 15th. This is a fantasy packed with horror, dystopia and lyrical story telling. We follow 12 year old Jean who finds the fate of her village resting on her shoulders when darkness and danger threaten the community. She must learn to control her powers in time to face the monsters on her own and protect those she loves.

A Caravan Like A Canary by Sasha Wasley was published on March 29th by Pantera Press. This is an adult women’s fiction novel that focuses on a women’s journey through her past and a reflection on family. Tara Button’s past and present collide when she agrees to take the family caravan to the other end of the state, with her brother Zac and his unexpected friend Dahn as her passengers.

Lastly, Tracks of the Missing by Carl Merrison and Hakea Hustler was published on April 1st by Indigenous Publishing House, Magabala Books. This is a young adult fiction lead by First Nation characters and set against an Australia backdrop. The story begins as young Dek’s hometown is rocked by the murder of his school teacher and the disappearance of the year 12 students. Dek is faced with the choice to stay out of it, or to join his grandfather, investigate and go bush.
