It’s been a big start to August, with Alex heading to Melbourne to deliver her sold out, full day workshop for Writers Vic, catch up with the Victorian authors and publishers, then the annual day of pitching to film producers as part of the wonderful 37South at Melbourne International Film Festival! And then, straight onto the last flight out of Melbourne on Thursday night, ready to appear on stage at the Byron Bay Writers Festival on Friday morning! Byron is the most wonderful writers festival, and despite Friday’s monsoonal rains, spirits were high. Luckily, Alex got through her two panels, before the ongoing heavy rain and mud forced the organisers to cancel the Sat and Sun of the festival – a heartbreaking but unavoidable decision.
