Dave Lowe is the bestselling Brisbane-based author of 11 books for children, as well as three plays and, most recently, an episode of the TV show ‘Bluey’. Dave’s first early middle grade series, ‘Stinky and Jinks’, following the exploits of an ordinary boy and his incredibly intelligent hamster, was published with Piccadilly Press in the UK and translated into six languages. The first book in the series, My Hamster is a Genius was highly commended at the prestigious Sheffield Book Awards in the UK. His most recent series, The Incredible Dadventure, about an adventurous 10-year-old girl and her family, also published by Piccadilly in the UK, won the Lancashire Fantastic Book Award and the Teach Primary Award in 2018. Dave has recently adapted My Hamster is a Genius for the stage, plus an approved adaptation of Andy Griffiths’ The Day My Bum Went Psycho and an episode of ‘Bluey’ (to be screened later this year). Dave has performed author talks and workshops around the world: at the Edinburgh, Bath and Cheltenham Festivals in the UK, and the Brisbane Writers Festival in Australia, as well as more than 100 schools, festivals and libraries.
