Damon Young is an award-winning philosopher and author. Damon’s thirteen books of nonfiction and children’s fiction are published internationally, and translated into twelve languages. These include On Getting Off, The Art of Reading, and Philosophy in the Garden for adults, and My Nanna is a Ninja and My Sister is a Superhero for children. The Australian described Damon as “a talent”, while the Times Literary Supplement praised his “well-developed inner critic”. The Sydney Morning Herald called him “a philosopher of fierce intellect and erudition, but also playful and eclectic in his tastes, ” while the UK’s Literary Review said that “Young writes with a delightful combination of humour and insight.” Damon is a regular radio guest, and has written and presented two series of “Philosophy Espresso” on ABC Radio National. Damon has also published opinion, reviews, poetry and short fiction in newspapers and magazines internationally. He is an Associate in the School of Philosophy at the University of Melbourne, and Founding Faculty at the School of Life, Melbourne.
