Cass Moriarty is a writer, interviewer and book critic from Brisbane. Her debut novel THE PROMISE SEED (UQP 2015) was longlisted for the 2017 Dublin International Literary Award and shortlisted for both the 2016 Queensland Literary Awards (People’s Choice) and 2013 QLA (Emerging Author), followed up by PARTING WORDS (UQP 2017). Since 2017, her creative non-fiction has been published by The Saturday Paper and received an Australia Council grant to work on her third novel, SMALL SCENES OF SHAME. She is an active member of the Queensland writing community: a writing mentor and workshop presenter through QWC and libraries; a judge for QLA 2018 and 2019; and regularly appears at BWF and other festivals as both moderator and guest. Cass hosts conversations or book launches with many authors at Avid Reader and other bookstores, and regularly publishes reviews of new fiction in a range of platforms.
