Sarah Epstein

Sarah Epstein is an Australian author, illustrator and designer who grew up in suburban Sydney and now lives in bayside Melbourne. After achieving a design degree and enjoying a 25-year graphic design career, Sarah returned to her first loves of writing and illustrating. Her debut YA novel Small Spaces was published in 2018 by Walker Books in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and in Poland by Zielona Sowa. It was shortlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year, the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, the Australian Book Industry Awards, the Readings Young Adult Book Prize, the Aurealis Awards, the Davitt Awards and longlisted in the Indie Book Awards.

Her suspenseful new YA mystery Deep Water is published by Allen & Unwin (2020). Deep Water has been shortlisted for the Queensland Literary Awards 2020, and published by Fischer Sauerlander in Germany and Editions Bayard in France.  Film rights in Small Spaces have been optioned by Kristian Moliere at Triptych Pictures and US producer Rebecca Green.
